What is the Illuminati?
The Illuminati, translated as the people of the light, refers to several groups and to prevailing conspiracy theories about some of these groups’ importance or continued influence in the modern world. Most specifically, the Illuminati were a radical group in Bavaria founded in 1776, which gave rise to other countries also forming Illuminati groups.
The Bavarian Illuminati, as well as its offshoot groups, was a secret society, to which many politicians and intellectuals were drawn. The Society of Masons was thought to have close ties with members of the Illuminati, and many Masons joined the Illuminati. The Illuminati conspiracy is a conspiracy theory which holds that there is a "global elite" society that is either in control of the world, or is seeking to take control of the world. As with most conspiracy theories, beliefs regarding the Illuminati conspiracy vary widely. As a result, it is virtually impossible to give a synopsis of the Illuminati conspiracy. Popularized in recent books and movies, the Illuminati conspiracy has definitely reached "cult fiction" status.

This society has thier hands in everything, religion, politics, media, corporate America, the IRS and the entertainment industry. Why? The answer is obvious to me…all of those things are used to control American citizens. Religion was used as a way to make the slaves docile, and ineffective. The media is used to control what we see and hear. The IRS and Government is there to make sure that only certain people are able to gain any wealth, and the so-called American Dream. The entertainment industry is designed to keep us dumbed down, and distracted from the issues that have the most effect on our survival such as voting, getting involved in the community, and reading.
