If your child decides to embarrass you all of a sudden in front of EVERYONE rather its by falling out on the ground or floor, throwing a temper tantrum, yelling at you, hitting you, pulling away from you etc, etc.
What would you do right at that time to discipline them in "PUBLIC"? ~~

The only child that I had this problem with was my son and it was when he was about 2-3. I basically quit taking him to the store. I would shop at night when he was asleep. I planned my menus for the week so I could avoid going several times a week. When he reached a certain age though I expect them to act accordingly. He is 4 now, I also have a 6 and 14 year old. They know that if they misbehave, I will leave!! In my sons case, if he fusses I will find a corner and put him in it. Most importantly, do not care what others think! I still do most of my shopping alone, only because between the three of them, I add an extra fifty bucks on my trip when I take them. When I do take them though, I try to make it fun, let them help, and they can get a donut or an ice cream if they are good. But I never tell them they are going to get anything before we get into the store. You will only then be harassed for the next hour of shopping if you let them know, LOL. Hope this helps :)
ReplyDeleteWell, if that happened, I would most likely be in jail waiting for my trial to start because I would hurt that child. My youngest son has tried it but like I said he tried it. I went ghetto mommy on his a**. I threw a temper tantrum of my own. I don't negotiate with children. This topic makes me want to go whip some a** just because. Lol!!!
ReplyDeletePick them up and leave immediately. If I was in a store I would leave whatever I was buying and walk out with my child. If it was me I would spank there bottom and put them in time out.
