Do you feel animals/pets have less, equal, or more rights than what they require?

bark it right or don't bark it all or I'm telling PETA say's the pup!!!

All jokes aside...Let's sit down and have a NICE ADULT debate...TACTFULLY shall we.....

I saw on the net that It takes more to get a dog at the pound than to adopt a kid from china?? If that's true.... go figure?? I don't get it?? sorry...

On one hand, you have many organizations who will give their last arm to protect animals, and some say, because liberals value the lives of animals more than they value human lives. I asked someone why??  Let me gather exactly what they stated quote un quote. He explained that some feel it's a-okay to kill an unborn child (abortion), but be expected to be called a horrible insane murderer if you accidentally kill a deer that ran out in front of your car.

On the other hand, you have the people who feel animals are ones property and just a pet “NOT” a baby that was birthed. I saw in someones argument elsewhere that animals are wonderful but, they're not people. They went on to say that they don't dream of a better life; they don't save to send their kids to college, they'll never write a new symphony or a best seller. The person went on to say, of course it doesn't mean we should not treat them with respect and in a humane manner. It does mean they don't deserve the "rights" that humans have in this country. They continued on to say that “Animal Rights” is not about rights for animals; it's about taking away their right to do what they please with their animal(s).

I hope everyone will be able to give their opinion/thoughts on animal rights in a way we can agree or disagree or agree to disagree....

  1. A rights is inherent. You people would have to give animal rights. All the animal ''rights'' propaganda is asinine and if anyone tries to rationalize something like that, because civil rights were extended to black people in the U.S. Constitution then a darn turkey or a rat run over trying to walk across a rode should be given rights too right? The argument about animals having rights is illogical and obtuse. You can't try to equate a person being abused of their rights to a caged turkey now can you? NO!

  2. I use to have a cat when i was a teenager and I love her like a human. She was the best cat in American. I think Human rights are more important than animal rights, but we should be nice to our pets, because they protect us and warn us when the weather is going to be bad. Did you ever notice when ther eis going to be a bad storm the birds disappear animals are smarter then we think. God created all of us and we are suppose to first and farmost look after human and then look after our live stock a.k.a pets. P.S. That puppy dog in the picture is so cute!!! I want it!!!

I treated that dog so human it wasn't even funny...Oh how I miss him so...He was my best friend...I got him around 77 and he was up there in age already, and passed in the late 80's early 90's....He got so old and it broke my heart to see him suffer....I tried to get other dogs as I have gotten older, but I end up giving them to someone else...Its like I try to feel a void that cant be replaced then I no longer want the puppy, because it not Pierre. I don't try anymore its not fair to them... ;-(

  4. Here's my issue!! Why do people make Facebook accounts for their animals? What's the purpose in that? I say too many rights! That's just ludicrous and you all know it!!

  5. your question is a "leaning/LEADING" question... "..more rights than they require." already states they have too many rights. it's about a living, breathing being. A vulnerable, living being that needs us for protection, food, shelter. 'nuff said.

  6. My dogs are my children and I love them so much. When she has puppies they are my grandchildren. I guess I am an animal activist.

  7. I may be blasted for this, but everytime I see a commercial asking me to contribute money to some animal foundation, I just think to myself " their are children who have no food in their bellies tonight" I do not condone the mistreatment of animals and I think if you are going to own an animal, they should be treated as a family member. This is a way of showing your children the responsibility of taking care of another life. This should parlay into them taken care of other people, be it through money donations or volunteering later on in life. I think that people who abuse animals should be prosecuted, I just feel that we need to focus on Human rights before we worry about animal rights.
