My husband is definitely a mama's boy and it drives me insane. It's just unnatural if you ask me. I understand a mothers love for her kids, but believe me when I tell you its unnatural!
In my opinion we seem to be much harder on our girls than boys. Girls are taught and expected at a very young age to cook ( often cooking for the whole family), clean, keep up with all the extracurricular such as dance, karate.. and keep t...he grades up in school. Girls fortunately are pushed or encourged to get that higher education, get the great job and be able to handle your bussiness without assistance from anyone. Is this teaching us to be head of household? Meanwhile we swaddle our boys trying to protect them from the harsh world as long as we can. He is not made to cook, barely does a chore (dosen't know a thing about taking care of the home), skates by in school and the only thing we get excited about is his paticiation in sports activities. This does NOT foster the same independance we demand and expect from girls. So of course these men are momma's boys still sucking on their mothers breast, we have not taught them any better...there is sometimes no man around to show them how to stand up and be a man, what do we expect. A poor man can't tell me how to get rich just as being a female I cannot teach a boy how to be a man. We need our men to step up and not continue to make excuses for their lack. Sorry kinda off the subject but that is my rant for the day!
Well said Tare... I often say men walk on crutches. I will admit at 39 I am still a daddy's girl, I will call my daddy in a heartbeat for what ever it is I need or want, But I stand on my own two feet. I have for many years and know my boundaries. But what can I say I love my daddy.
