On what you're asking...right?? Define addiction?? Addiction comes in so many forms...so my apologies...I forgot to ask the person on what?? So, for the sake of things we will just use drugs...any drug for that matter....
There are approximately a hundred to a million people in different parts of the world who die per year from drugs directly or indirectly, rather its from money, purchasing, or an over dose.
Illegal drugs are bad, but prescription drugs are worse. Lots of people die from prescription overdoses all the time. I sometime feel that the pharmaceutical industry is worse than the drug dealers on the streets. Pushing there new top drugs on our society. I rather see a Holistic doctor and take herbs, spices and eat properly.
ReplyDeleteGenerally I am against drugs. Most drugs are self-destructive, highly addictive and you can find yourself caught up in the high and get as low as a person can get, before you even know it. It destroys lives. My grandmother is SO anti-drugs,... that she told my mother and her brother: "If you use drugs, you might as well be dead". Well THAT is too extreme, in my opinion. Because certain people have recovered from it. Plus, not ALL drugs are absolutely bad. My brother takes Weed, for instance, on very rare occasions, and nothing- I repeat- NOTHING bad happened to him. He says it gives him a feeling nothing else can give him, it opens his horizons and increases his creativity. Do I agree with him? Not sure... I would never take drugs (or at least at this point in my life I'm certain of it), but if you never try, how would you know? Just because a certain drug is illegal, does NOT mean it really is as bad as they make us think. There is a lot of propaganda and brainwash in that industry, and the media always show only the negative effects and the negative drugs, and often it spreads lies (that is by the way not just about drugs). Why should my brother, a perfectly healthy, innocent, creative, positive, responsible and wonderful human-being, be put in jail for a drug that done nothing negative to anyone??? Because there is a lot of fear-mongering about this subject. Now, again, I repeat, I am against drugs- in my opinion if something MIGHT do harm to you or to anyone else, you should just not do it; But when my brother and I talked about it, he said: "Well then, what about extreme sports? What about unprotected sex? What about drinking so much Coffee your body swims in caffein? What about recruiting to the army? All those things might cause harm too, yet you don't see as many fear-mongering about them and they're certainly not illegal and you don't get locked up for doing them. So if you want to see things in black and white, go ahead- but don't pretend you're open-minded". And I can't decide what to think... Me myself, I would never use drugs, not only because of my views on it but also because of certain chemicals which would 100% cause me thrice the harm it causes most people; But who am I to tell someone not to do something? And who am I to decide for someone what is dangerous and what is an adventure? Again I repeat I am against drugs. But am I rightfully against it, or am I just brainwashed like everybody else? Now that is a mystery I'd like to solve one of these days....
